Winter is in Connecticut's future! Not only do you need to get your home ready for winter storms, but your business as well. Planning now, can save a lot of trouble in the future.
- Communicate with employees. Have a predetermined way to communicate with all employees to let them know if you will be open after a storm
- Let customers know if and when you're closing. Utilizing social media is a great way to keep customers informed!
- Salt the sidewalks. Get ahead of the storm by salting your sidewalks before the storm starts to avoid a slippery situation later
- Consider buying a generator. Having a generator for important devices and products like walk-in coolers and food storage will offer peace of mind when it comes to losing power
- Prepare a winter emergency kit. Include
- Battery charged radio
- Water and food snacks
- Copies of important documents, all kept in water-proof containers
- Flashlights
- First aid kit
- Hand sanitizer
- Extra toiletries
- Cell phone chargers and power bank
