Be Safe on Halloween

Halloween is a fun time of year. Make sure your little monsters are safe!
- Use battery-operated candles or glow-sticks in jack-o-lanterns. If you use real candles use extreme caution. Be sure lit pumpkins are far way from anything that can burn
- Remember to keep exits clear of decorations, so nothing blocks escape routes
- Dried flowers, cornstalks and crepe paper can catch fire easily. Keep all decorations away from open flames and heat sources
- Provide children with flashlights or glow-sticks as part of their costume
- When choosing costumes, stay away from long trailing fabric. If your child is wearing a mask, make sure the eye holes are large enough so they can see out
