When Losing Power Wreaks Havoc
When we get a call from a homeowner saying they have storm damage, it is most often from flooding or for debris removal. This call was different. When this homeowner in Voluntown lost their power due to a storm for 10 days, their numerous refrigerators and freezers filled with food and meat products thawed creating quite the mess and smell in the home. Our crew at SERVPRO of Norwich and Windham County came in to remove the rotten food and scrub and disinfect the refrigerators and freezers from top to bottom. We also cleaned the floors and ran air scrubbers to help get rid of the smell. It wasn't a pleasant job but we were happy to help the customer.
